LOW-POLY IS HARD AND SO IS UV MAPPING BUT I THINK THIS TURNED OUT ALMOST A LITTLE BIT OKAY..

I wish I could figure out how people get this low-poly stuff to look so amazing. There's some setting or something that I'm missing somewhere.

Hadn't realized this until now, but I haven't posted any 3D work in literally over a year, and the last one I DID post was also Doctor Who related. [link]

Oh yeah! Also: EXTERMINATE!

Nicely done. What's low-poly?

BTW: I had made some Flash animations recently with action script 3.0

Well, when you make a 3D model, you're basically adding and dragging around hundreds and hundreds of little squares (polygons) to make the shape you want. (The smooth character models you see in movies can have millions of them.) "Low-poly" just means making a model while trying to add as little geometry as you can.

For some reason, though, people usually only list the tri count, which is what you get when you convert the squares into triangles. A tri count of less than 500 is generally the goal for low-poly modeling.

Nope. Try $3,000. If you want something free, you can try Blender. www.blender.org It used to have like a million buttons everywhere and I found it impossible to work with, but I believe they've changed it quite a lot since then and made it more tolerable.

They're evil xenocidal squid-like creatures that live inside robotic battle armor. [link]
